Tulsi Ezhilan was educated at Anna University in India and Clemson University in USA. His research was on a light weight engineering project funded by BMW, outcome of which was published as a book. Tulsi Ezhilan's career began in Automotive domain. He worked in USA in the electro-mechanical design field for couple years before moving to UK. Having briefly worked in medical industry sector and heat exchangers design, he joined Rolls-Royce in 2011 as a Mechanical Design Engineer in the Civil Aerospace Large Engines sector. Tulsi Ezhilan's work involves requirements engineering, stakeholder integration and management, planning, concept development, feasibility study, material selection, DfX, robust concept selection, concept buy-off, DFMEA, concept optimisation, detail design implementation, solution approval, coaching and mentoring junior members of the team, resolving technology export control and intellectual property issues, managing producibility issues, overall being accountable for delivering the commodity design package. Shortly, Tulsi Ezhilan will be moving to Producibility Lead role within Rolls-Royce.
